Designer Not Working
If you're having trouble with the visual designer, here are the most common issues and fixes.
Designer won't load
Symptoms: Blank screen, infinite spinner, or error message when opening a project.
Fixes:
- Hard refresh the page:
Cmd+Shift+R(Mac) orCtrl+Shift+R(Windows) - Clear browser cache and cookies for the zero8 domain
- Try a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
- Disable browser extensions — ad blockers can interfere with the designer
Changes aren't saving
Symptoms: Edits disappear after refreshing or reopening the project.
Fixes:
- Check your internet connection — changes are saved automatically and require connectivity
- Look for a "Saving..." or "Save failed" indicator in the designer toolbar
- Avoid having the same project open in multiple tabs simultaneously
AI changes aren't applying
Symptoms: You describe a change in the conversation tab but the design doesn't update.
Fixes:
- Wait a few seconds — AI changes can take a moment to render
- Refresh the preview pane using the refresh icon
- Check if you have remaining AI credits (shown in the bottom of the conversation tab)
Images not uploading
Symptoms: Image upload fails or the image doesn't appear after uploading.
Fixes:
- Check the file format — supported formats are JPG, PNG, WebP, and SVG
- Check the file size — maximum 10MB per image
- Try uploading from the Files section first, then inserting into the designer
Preview looks different from the live site
Symptoms: The designer preview looks correct but the published site looks different.
Fixes:
- Click Publish again to ensure the latest version is deployed
- Hard refresh the live site:
Cmd+Shift+R - Check if a custom font is loading correctly on the live site (some fonts require internet access)
